Church websites

Church website design with service times, sermons and online giving

SiteHike designs and builds church websites on Webflow. A church site has a few main jobs: show your service times and location, tell a first-time visitor what to expect, keep sermons and events current, and make giving easy. We build the site around those jobs, and your staff can make routine changes in the site editor.

Our church work

Church and ministry websites we have built

Most of our clients are contractors. Churches and ministries are a smaller part of our work, and both of the sites below are on our work page.

Church at Bergen

A church in Paramus, New Jersey. The new Webflow site has a plan your visit page, a page for each ministry, a give page and 639 sermon pages that can be browsed by book of the Bible, series or preacher.

Hope Is Coming

A Christ centered youth athletics program with camps, leagues and an AAU travel team. Each program has its own signup page, and the cornhole and golf fundraisers have event pages where sponsors can buy packages online. We maintain the site as the schedule changes.

What visitors look for

Three things to know about church websites

Service times and directions come first

Most people who visit a church website want the service times, the address and what's happening this week. Those belong on the homepage, and they need to match your Google listing.

First-time visitors need a plan your visit page

Someone new wants to know what a service is like, where to park, where to go when they arrive and what's available for kids. One page that answers those questions makes the first visit easier.

Sermons and events should be easy to update

Sermons, events and ministries live in the site's content system, so a staff member can post this week's sermon or a new event without touching the design.

The work

What a SiteHike church website includes

Sermon, ministry and event pages

Each ministry and recurring event gets its own page with the details people ask about, and each sermon gets a page your members can find by series, book of the Bible or preacher.

A clear way to give

A give button in the menu and a give page linked to the giving tool your church already uses, so gifts keep going where they go now.

Your Google Business Profile set up correctly

We set the categories, service times, address and photos, so what people see on Google Maps matches your website.

Help after launch

Service times, events and staff change during the year. We can keep the site updated for you, or show your staff how to make routine changes in the site editor.

Free tools from Google

Google offers qualifying churches free ads and software

Churches recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3), or covered by a group exemption through their denomination, can join Google for Nonprofits at no cost. We can help you apply and set up the parts that bring people to your website. See our Google Ad Grants management page for the details.

Up to $10,000 a month in search ads

Google Ad Grants gives qualifying churches up to $10,000 a month in ads on Google search. We set up the account and the tracking Google requires, and we can manage it each month to keep it active.

Google Workspace at no cost

Qualifying churches get Google Workspace for Nonprofits free, with email on your own domain, shared calendars and Drive. The larger Workspace plans are offered at a discount.

A website that meets Google's rules

Ad Grants ads have to point to a site on your own domain with HTTPS, fast pages, working links and a clear statement of your mission. We build church sites with those rules in mind.

Questions

Questions churches ask us

What does a church website cost?

It depends on the size of the site, how many ministries and events it needs to handle, how many sermons you want on it, and whether you want us to maintain it after launch. We quote each church website after a short call.

Have you built a church website before?

Yes. We built the new Church at Bergen website in Paramus, New Jersey, with service times, a plan your visit page, a page for each ministry, a give page and an archive of 639 sermons.

Can you help our church get Google Ad Grants?

Yes. Google gives qualifying churches up to $10,000 a month in search ads. We help you apply, set up the account with the tracking Google requires, and can manage it each month. Your church needs 501(c)(3) status or a group exemption to qualify, and our Google Ad Grants page has the details.

Can you connect our giving and event tools?

Yes. We link or embed the giving, registration and event tools you already use, so gifts and signups keep going where they go now.

Can our staff post sermons and events themselves?

Yes. Sermons, events and ministries live in the site's content system, so a staff member can add or change them without touching the design. We can also make the updates for you.

How long does a new church website take?

Most sites are ready in about 30 days once we have your content. A site with a large sermon archive or many ministries can take longer, and we'll give you a timeline on the call.
