You didn't get into plumbing to write content. Here are five things that produce calls without turning you into a content creator, and one thing that isn't worth your time.

Most plumbers we talk to have the same relationship with marketing. They know they need it, they don't enjoy doing it, and they've been burned at least once by someone selling them leads or a website that never produced a call.
The good news is that the list of things that matter is short.
Emergency plumbing is won in the map results. Someone with water where it shouldn't be searches for plumber plus their town and calls the first credible listing. Getting into that pack comes down to proximity, review volume and recency, and a Google Business Profile that's filled in with the right categories, a full services list, and photos from real jobs. An afternoon spent on the profile pays better than almost anything else in plumbing marketing.
A burst pipe and a repipe are different customers. The emergency visitor needs a phone number and proof that you cover their town, within a few seconds. The repipe or water heater customer is comparing options and wants to see price ranges, brands, and what the job involves. Each one needs its own page, because the high margin project work is researched carefully rather than decided in a panic.
Send a text after every completed job with a direct review link, the same way every time, rather than only when you remember or only when the job went perfectly. A steady flow of reviews is what makes homeowners pick you out of three names, and it keeps building without extra effort.
You're under a sink, the phone rings out, and that customer calls the next plumber on the list. A missed call text back keeps a surprising share of those customers. It's the most useful piece of automation in the trade.
You don't need a page for every town within driving distance, only the ones where the jobs pay and the drive makes sense. Each of those should get a real page naming the services you run there. Ten well written town pages do more than a hundred copies with the name swapped, both with Google and with the homeowner reading them.
Posting on social media because someone said you have to. A plumbing company with an empty Instagram and a complete Google listing will get more calls than the reverse. Social media is fine when there's time left over, and most weeks there isn't.
All five items above are the system we build and run for plumbing companies. The full guide, with real pricing, is on our plumbing SEO page. If you'd rather see where you stand first, the free audit shows your rankings town by town, with no cost and no sales pitch.
