How to get pressure washing jobs, in the order that works

Flyers, business cards, door hangers, ads and SEO can all bring in pressure washing jobs, but the order you do them in matters. Here is where the jobs come from, based on the trade we know best.

How to get pressure washing jobs, in the order that works

Pressure washing is the trade we know best. Most of our client portfolio is exterior cleaning, so we've watched where the jobs come from over many seasons. The answer is rarely the thing new owners spend money on first.

First: the searches that already exist

Every day in your service area, people search for pressure washing plus their town, house washing near me, or driveway cleaning. Those people are ready to hire someone. Showing up for those searches works better than interrupting people who weren't thinking about it. Showing up depends on three things: a complete Google Business Profile, a steady flow of reviews, and a website with a real page for each service and each town you work in. That's most of what pressure washing SEO involves, and the results build from one season to the next.

Second: the neighborhood effect

The cheapest job you'll ever book is next door to one you just finished. Keep your equipment clean, letter your truck, and leave a door hanger on the five houses on either side while the driveway is still drying. This is where print pays for itself. A door hanger left at the moment the neighbor can see the results does more than a thousand flyers mailed to people who've never seen your work.

Third: reviews as advertising

A homeowner choosing between three companies almost always picks the one with 80 recent reviews over the one with 9. A review request texted after every job, with a direct link, is the highest return marketing task in this trade, and it costs nothing.

What about flyers and business cards?

They work as support but not as a foundation. A card handed over at the job matters because the job already happened. If you're spending on print, spend it on door hangers for the neighborhood effect and yard signs for the day of the job. Make sure everything you print carries the same name and logo as your Google listing, or the referral trail breaks. We wrote separately about what a pressure washing logo needs to do.

What about paid ads?

Ads can buy visibility in the first week while the organic system builds. In an area with light competition they're often unnecessary, and we'll say so. Where they make sense, they work as a layer on top of the organic base rather than a replacement for it, because paid visibility ends the day the spending stops.

Where this is running right now

This is the system running live for our clients, including Applewood Exterior Cleaning, Eagle's Power Washing and Under Pressure House Washing, all on sites we built and manage. The full guide, with published pricing, is on our pressure washing marketing page.

If you'd rather find out where you stand first, the free audit shows where you rank in every town on your route, what your listing is missing, and what we'd fix first. There's no cost and no sales pitch.
