Environmental nonprofit engaging thousands of volunteers in cleanups, regenerative farming and youth stewardship across New Jersey.
MEVO came on in early 2018 as a fast growing environmental volunteer organization in Mahwah, New Jersey whose brand had stopped matching its size. Identity had to come first. Then the site had to handle a constant flow of dated volunteer opportunities, farm days, cleanups, trail work, school and scout groups, internships and a CSA, because almost everything the organization does depends on a person signing up for a specific date.
We started with the 2018 rebrand: logo, color palette and typefaces. The site is organized around the two reasons people arrive, which are joining something and understanding the programs. A volunteer events calendar carries every farm day, farmers market, cleanup and workshop as its own dated page, and each program gets a page of its own, including Fresh Roots farming, Stag Hill cleanups, trail work, farm to school, education and group programs, corporate groups, scouts, internships and the CSA. Mission, history, partners, a full staff directory with individual bios, media coverage, jobs, a shop and a donate page complete it.
MEVO has run on this identity and this site since 2018. The organization's own published impact figures, over 850,000 pounds of illegal dumping removed and more than 12,000 volunteers engaged, sit on the site as its headline proof, and volunteer signups, donations and CSA shares all come through it. Violet Reed has publicly credited Eric with a sharp eye for design and website functionality across that whole run.
