How the big full service agencies compare with a three person team on price, attention and ownership.
You've probably seen the trade show booths: a big brand, a long client list, a platform with a name, and a salesperson who knows your industry well. Plenty of home service businesses do well with national agencies.
The main difference is attention, and what happens when you're the smallest account on someone's list.
A national agency brings scale. It has dedicated ad teams, data from thousands of accounts in your trade, its own software, and a support structure that keeps running when one person is out.
What comes with that scale is a process. You're assigned an account manager instead of working with the person building your site, the website usually runs on the agency's platform rather than one you control, and the terms about what you keep at the end vary a lot from one company to the next. Pricing is quoted per client and isn't published, so the only way to know what it costs is to ask and get the answer in writing.
We're three people with no account managers, and you talk to the person doing the work from the first call. The site is a Webflow site you can take with you after the initial term, and the domain and Google Business Profile stay in your name the whole time.
Because we work in your trade every week, we usually notice when something is wrong before you have to point it out.
