Landscapers
Overview

Landscaping covers everything from a weekly mow to a thirty thousand dollar patio, and the same website has to serve both. Most manage neither well.

What gets in the way
  • Maintenance customers and design build customers want completely different things
  • Price shoppers eat the day with quotes that were never going to close
  • Winter is quiet unless you sell something for it
  • Portfolio photos sit on a phone instead of on the website
  • Competing against unlicensed operators working for cash
What we do about it

Split maintenance from design build

Two different buyers, two different journeys. The mow and blow customer should never land on a patio gallery, and the patio customer should not have to scroll past lawn pricing.

Qualify before the quote

Forms that ask the right questions up front, so you are driving to jobs worth driving to.

Fill the winter

Snow, lighting, and cleanup content published before the season rather than during it.

Questions we get asked

The things that come up on almost every first call in this trade, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Maintenance and design build customers want different things. How does one site serve both?

Two front doors from the homepage. The weekly mow customer never has to scroll past patio galleries, and the patio customer never lands on lawn pricing. Same site, two paths, and each one written for the person on it.

Price shoppers eat my week. Can the website filter them?

Partly. Price ranges on the design build pages and a form that asks about scope before it asks for a phone number will cut the volume down. You will get fewer leads and close a higher share of them, which is usually the trade you want.

Winter is dead. What can the site do about that?

Publish snow, lighting, and cleanup content in September, not December. Seasonal pages need roughly three months of runway before the season to rank during it, which is why most contractors publish theirs a season too late every year.

All my portfolio photos are on my phone. Is that a problem?

It is the biggest one on most landscaping sites. Design build is sold almost entirely on photos, and getting them off the phone and into organized galleries is usually the single highest impact change we make.

How do I compete against guys working for cash?

You do not compete for the same customer. Licensing, insurance, warranty, and photographed project history put you in front of the buyer who was never going to hire the cash guy in the first place.

Do I need a page for every town?

For maintenance, yes, within your route, because nobody hires a mowing crew from forty minutes away. For design build, cast wider. People will happily drive a contractor an hour for the right patio.
